The U.S. Labor Department said the U.S. Consumer Price Index, CPI, rose 2.6% last month from a year earlier.

This is up 0.2% from the previous month.

Excluding volatile energy and food products, core CPI rose 3.3% year-on-year and 0.3% month-on-month, respectively.

Both year-over-year and month-over-month gains in the flagship and core indexes met market expert expectations, local media said.
