Iran's foreign minister has cited the need to ease friction between Iran and the United States, Iran's state-run IRNA news agency reported.
"There are very fundamental and unresolvable differences between us and the United States, but we have to reduce the costs and tensions that come with it," Abbas Aracchi told reporters on the 13th local time.
Arakchi said the Biden administration has repeatedly announced that it is seeking a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, but has not achieved any results, adding, "This is either a result of hypocrisy or because we are not capable of concluding a ceasefire."
"The statements made by U.S. officials are not important to us," he said. "What matters is their actions."
