Rep. Lee Joon-seok of the New Reform Party raised suspicions that President Yoon Suk Yeol demanded the nomination of a specific mayor and a candidate for Seoul mayor in the 2022 local elections held when he was representative of the People's Power.

Rep. Lee met with reporters on his way home after an overseas business trip and claimed that he looked for the records of President Yoon's active communication with him during the nomination period in the past, and that he saw things that were ridiculous.

When a provincial party chairman complained, "Lee Joon-seok is not listening," President Yoon once asked him to nominate a specific mayor, and he said that it would be better to give it to someone else because the current person is not competitive.

The possibility of the prosecution's investigation said that it would be a reference personality investigation because he was the representative who knew the overall nomination at the time, and that he was willing to talk about more certain things than what was already announced if necessary.

He also explained that two years ago, the day before the announcement of the nomination of former lawmaker Kim Young-sun, he first sent a message to Myung Tae-kyun saying, "President-elect Yoon Suk Yeol wants to run for Kim Young-sun."

When asked if he communicated with Yoon Suk Yeol on this issue at the time, he added that President Yoon would have known if there was such a smell, and that he said it was not such an atmosphere because the mission committee had not delivered anything to him.
