The National Assembly passed the "Kim Ho-joong Prevention Act"... No "drinking" method.

The so-called "Kim Ho-joong Prevention Act" passed the National Assembly, which requires punishment for acts that interfere with police's sobriety test by drinking additionally after driving under the influence of alcohol.

The National Assembly held a plenary session and passed some amendments to the Road Traffic Act.

The amendment includes a new regulation prohibiting obstruction of alcohol measurement through the so-called "drinking method" and punishing those who obstruct alcohol measurement at the same level as those who refuse alcohol measurement.

Currently, those who refuse to take a breathalyzer test can face imprisonment for not less than 1 year and not more than 5 years or a fine of not less than 5 million won and not more than 20 million won.

It also included grounds for aggravated punishment for those who drove under the influence of alcohol more than twice within 10 years, refused or interfered with alcohol testing.
