According to a survey, more than nine out of 10 people admitted to pediatric and adolescent hospitals this year are infectious disease patients.

The Korea Pediatric Youth Hospital Association said it has confirmed this fact by investigating the proportion of inpatients in 52 pediatric and youth hospitals from January to the present.

The largest number of pediatric infectious diseases among inpatients was mycoplasma pneumonia, accounting for 19.9% of the total.

Next, 8.3% of COVID-19, 8.1% of adenovirus, 5% of pertussis and hand-foot-and-mouth disease.
