The six-story building behind me is a building on fire.
Currently, most of the flames are under control, and firefighters are entering the building to continue the search.
You can also see the police being dispatched and controlling the scene.
The fire broke out at 3:38 a.m. today (17th).
The fire started at the restaurant on the first floor of the six-story commercial building, and smoke has flowed into the motel on the 5th and 6th floors of the shopping mall.
Fire authorities decided that there were likely to be many guests in the motel because it was the weekend, so they issued a "Response Phase 2" at 3:57 p.m., 19 minutes after the report.
As a result, 84 people were dispatched to 31 fire engines.
At 4:47, an hour and 10 minutes after the report under the on-site command of the Ansan Fire Station chief, the big fire has been caught, and the response stage has been lowered to the first stage.
Police said they rescued 45 people inside the mall, including a motel, and two of them jumped on an air mat. Most rescuers
complain of smoke inhalation, and no deaths have been confirmed so far.
The fire itself does not seem to be big, but the possibility of a victim coming out cannot be ruled out because of the smoke. The fire department conducted an additional search for life inside the building.
Meanwhile, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min issued an emergency order at around 5 a.m., and instructed firefighters, police, and local governments to do their best to save lives by mobilizing all available personnel and equipment.
Minister Lee plans to send a field situation manager to help local governments deal with the situation.
So far, I'm Hong Min-ki of YTN at the fire site in Danwon-gu, Ansan.
