South Korea, Peru agree to jointly develop submarines and expand cooperation in core minerals

South Korea and Peru have decided to diversify defense cooperation through joint development of naval ships and promote cooperation in the supply chain of key minerals.

On the 16th local time, President Yoon Suk Yeol held a summit with President Dina Boluarte in the Peruvian capital of Lima and adopted a joint declaration.

Taking this visit as an opportunity, the two leaders signed three MOUs and agreements for joint submarine development cooperation and decided to diversify defense cooperation through joint production and development of defense assets and equipment.

In addition, they signed a 'MOU for Core Mineral Cooperation' and decided to promote complementary supply chain cooperation between Korea, a technology powerhouse, and Peru, a resource-rich country, by exchanging supply chain information and conducting joint geological surveys.
