Escalator fire at Dongdaemun Station on line 4...Once a non-stop pass

Yesterday (18th) at around 9:40 p.m., a fire broke out at an escalator inside Dongdaemun Station on Seoul Subway Line 4, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and it was extinguished in an hour.

As the fire caused a lot of smoke, users were rushed to evacuate, and four of them returned home after receiving treatment at the scene.

In addition, the up and down line train of Line 4 passed through Dongdaemun Station without stopping for an hour until the smoke from the station disappeared.

In a call with YTN, visitors at the scene explained the situation at the time that they had been rushed out of the ticket gate due to smoke and acrid smells.

Fire authorities are investigating the cause of the fire with an escalator management company.
