A four-story building collapsed in Dar es Salaam, a coastal city in Tanzania, Africa, killing 16 people.

The collapse occurred on the 16th local time, and 86 people have been rescued so far and there are still more buried people, so rescue efforts are underway.

Kazim Majali and Tanzania's prime minister said they were talking to some buried people and continued rescue efforts.

It also announced that 19 experts will be appointed to conduct safety inspections of high-rise buildings in the surrounding area.

The cause of the building's collapse has yet to be confirmed, but residents testified to local media that the building was undergoing underground business space expansion.

Dar es Salaam, which has a population of 5 million, is being criticized for its rapid growth and the rise of illegal buildings.

In 2013, a 16-story building collapsed, killing 34 people.
