Kim Dong-yeon discusses 'innovative cooperation and human exchanges' with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and National Research Foundation Chairman Heng Swicket at Dodamso yesterday evening (18th) to discuss strengthening cooperation and innovation cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore.

Governor Kim said in an interview, "We hope that Gyeonggi Province and Singapore will have better results in cooperation and exchanges between people in all industries, including AI, big data, mobility and semiconductors."

"What Gyeonggi Province and Singapore have in common can be summarized in two words: 'innovation' and 'courage'. "We have enjoyed rapid economic development based on innovation for opportunities and courage for the future," he said. "We have high expectations for all the possibilities ahead of us. Heng Swift said, "We have been friends for a long time since we were finance ministers," adding, "Gyeonggi Province is the cradle of vibrant innovation and talent training." As it is the largest province in Korea, I think there are many good opportunities for cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and Singapore in the future."

Gyeonggi Province and Singapore have been engaged in steady exchanges, including a meeting between President Tarman Shanmugaratnam and Communications Information Minister Josephine Teo at the Davos Forum in Switzerland earlier this year and a delegation led by Singapore's Smart Nation Deputy Secretary Augustine Lee's visit to Gyeonggi Province.

The Singapore government also officially invited Governor Kim through the Nathan Fellowship, a program that invites foreign dignitaries to share their insights.
