Samsung founder Lee Byung-chul's 37th anniversary memorial service was held in Seonyoung, near the Hoam Art Museum in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics, Hong Ra-hee, former director of the Lium Museum, Lee Boo-jin, president of Hotel Shilla, and Lee Seo-hyun, president of Samsung C&T, visited Sunyoung to honor the deceased.
In addition, pan-Samsung-affiliated groups such as Shinsegae, CJ, and Hansol also visited Yongin Sunyoung in different times as in previous years.
CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, Hoam's eldest grandson, visited the site with his son Lee Seon-ho, head of CJ Cheil Jedang's food growth promotion office, and his daughter Lee Kyung-hoo, head of CJ ENM's brand strategy office, during a 40-minute stay in Seonyoung.
The pan-Samsung-affiliated group family held a joint memorial service for Hoam in the past, but since 2012, when their brothers, CJ former Chairman Lee Maeng-hee and Samsung's predecessor Lee Kun-hee, had an inheritance dispute, they have visited Sunyoung differently.
Lee Byung-chul, the founder of Samsung C&T, established Samsung Commercial Association in 1938, and Cheil Jedang, which started as a sugar business in 1953, is the birthplace of CJ Group.
