The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office indicted seven people, including a doctor identified only by his surname Seo, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, and 24 people, including addicts, without detention.
Seo and others are accused of illegally administering propofol worth 1.458 billion won on more than 400 occasions in seven months since November last year.It turns out that
Seo's group has set up a so-called "skin care room" in the hospital so that addicts can administer propofol without a limit on the number of times according to the payment.
One addict paid as much as 18 million won and then administered propofol for more than 10 hours a day, and Seo posted a false report on the integrated drug management system of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as if he had administered it normally to others for medical purposes to avoid tracking down related authorities.
The prosecution is also pursuing the whereabouts of Yoon, who is in charge of planning the crime and providing initial funds and recruiting lawmakers such as Seo, with an arrest warrant.
