YouTuber caught illegally selling food while advertising disease treatment

The Busan Regional Food and Drug Administration sent four people, including a YouTuber in his 60s, to the prosecution on charges of advertising and selling food made at unauthorized facilities as if it were beneficial to health.

A is accused of selling 230 million won worth of food made at an unauthorized facility through his herbal-related YouTube channel for four years from April 2020 and advertising it as if it were effective for various diseases such as cancer and dementia.

Food poisoning bacteria were detected in some of the sold foods, and some products contained herbal medicines that could not be used as food.
