KOICA Strengthens Development Cooperation with Egypt Ahead of 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
The Korea International Cooperation Agency, KOICA, said it plans to further strengthen its development cooperation projects with Egypt, Africa.

To this end, Chairman Jang Won-sam of KOICA visited Egypt for three days from the 20th local time and attended the completion ceremony of the Egyptian e-procurement system and the signing ceremony of an exchange memorandum on educational capabilities and industry-academic cooperation projects at Korea-Egypt University of Technology.

In particular, KOICA explained that the completed electronic procurement system will enable real-time monitoring of the annual procurement plan and procurement status of each Egyptian government agency and collection of statistics.

KOICA said the visit was made to expand free development cooperation projects with Egypt to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Korea-Egypt diplomatic relations next year with the Korean government, which focuses on future-oriented cooperation with Africa.Chairman

stressed at the completion ceremony that KOICA will share our e-procurement experience and best practices recognized globally through this project, and will continue to provide support for the successful implementation of the system.

Since designating Egypt as a new key partner in 2021, the Korean government has continuously expanded the scale of free development cooperation.
