The government is likely to propose the exercise of the right to demand reconsideration of the "Kim Special Prosecutor Act" today.

The government plans to hold a Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo today (26th) to propose the exercise of the president's right to request reconsideration on the Special Prosecutor Act of First Lady Kim Gun-hee.

If President Yoon Suk Yeol approves this, he will have a third veto over the Kim Special Counsel Act, which was led by the opposition party.

The special prosecution law is characterized by reducing the scope of the investigation from 14 cases to two cases, including "the alleged manipulation of Deutsche Motors stock prices" and "the suspicion related to Myung Tae-kyun."

The Democratic Party of Korea plans to push for a re-vote at the National Assembly plenary session the day after tomorrow (28th) if President Yoon exercises his right to demand reconsideration.

Earlier, at a press conference on the 7th, President Yoon expressed his intention to veto the third time, saying, "Although the investigation into Kim has already been conducted sufficiently, the prosecution has not even been able to prosecute him," adding that it is against the Constitution to appoint an independent counsel against the president and the ruling party.
