The government approved a request for reconsideration of the "Kim Gun-hee Special Counsel Act"...The president is likely to veto a third time.

The government held a Cabinet meeting today (26th) and decided to propose a request for reconsideration and the exercise of the so-called veto power to the president on the Kim Gun-hee independent counsel law.

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who presided over the meeting, criticized the opposition party for unilaterally passing the Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act without any consultation with the ruling party at the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 14th.

He also pointed out that the special prosecutor's bill violated the constitutional principle of separation of powers and the principle of exceptionalism of the special prosecutor system, and that it was clearly unconstitutional because it could undermine the foundation of the judicial system.

Prime Minister Han also said he is very sorry and sorry that the opposition party has yet to pass another independent counsel bill that has not been resolved at all.

If President Yoon Suk Yeol approves the resolution of the right to request reconsideration, he will exercise his third veto over the Special Prosecutor Act related to Kim.

The Democratic Party of Korea plans to push for a re-vote at the National Assembly plenary session the day after tomorrow (28th) if President Yoon exercises his right to demand reconsideration.
