North Korea was seen demolishing the transmission tower wires built by Korea Electric Power Corp. in the past to supply power to the Kaesong Industrial Complex. An official from

said that since the 24th, several North Korean soldiers have been seen cutting and stacking some of the wires on the transmission tower around the Gyeongui Line.

The transmission tower, in the form of a pylon, was installed hundreds of meters apart on the Gyeongui Line road, which connects the northern point of the military demarcation line that North Korea blew up on the 15th of last month to the Kaesong Industrial Complex.

The transmission facility, built by Korea Electric Power Corp., was first connected in December 2006 and started supplying electricity to the Kaesong Industrial Complex, but it was once cut off in 2016 when North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test.

Currently, a total of 48 transmission towers have been built in the section from Munsan in the south to the Peace Substation in North Korea, of which 15 have been installed in the north.
