A series of suspicious drone activities have been spotted near several RAF bases where the U.S. Air Force is stationed.
The U.S. Air Force said a number of small drones were spotted near RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell bases in eastern England and near Fairford bases in southwestern England between 20 and 26.
A defense source said the drone activity appeared to be organized, and a U.S. official, who asked not to be named, also said it was too early to determine who was behind it, but noted that it did not appear to be the work of an amateur.
The British military has sent about 60 soldiers, including drone experts, and local police are investigating drone activity with the support of the Ministry of Defence.
It is not known who is behind the incident, but the AP pointed out that the war in Ukraine has led to a growing conflict between the West and Russia.
