U.S. President Biden, who is about to retire, welcomed the cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah, saying it proved that peace is possible.

On the other hand, Trump's side evaluated that the ceasefire negotiations were concluded due to the effect of Trump's election.

U.S. President Biden made a White House speech not long after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced a ceasefire.

President Biden said he was happy to accept the U.S. proposal for a cease-fire and said the settlement proved peace is possible.

[Joe Biden / U.S. President] This truce reminded us that peace is possible. Again, peace is possible and I will never stop trying to do this for a moment.]

Reaffirming a proviso that Hezbollah could attack again if it violates the agreement, he stressed that Israel has a right to defend itself under international law.

Hamas, which was the beginning of the Middle East conflict, also said it was now at a crossroads of choice and hoped the deal would be a prelude to peace in Gaza.

[Joe Biden / President of the United States] Now Hamas has to choose. The only solution is to release hostages, including Americans, and to end the war.]

Shortly after the ceasefire negotiations were concluded, Trump's side praised the ceasefire as a Trump effect.

Mike Waltz, who served as the second administration's security commander, wrote on social media that Trump's election brought everyone to the negotiating table.

Trump's overwhelming victory sent a clear message to the world that he would not tolerate chaos.

Since the announcement of the ceasefire, international oil prices have also stabilized.

West Texas Intermediate crude fell to its lowest level since the 15th at the close, while Brent also continued its two-day losing streak.
