With as much as 20cm of heavy snow falling throughout the central part of the country overnight, Seoul recorded its highest snowfall in 117 years in November.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that 16.5cm of snow accumulated at the official observatory in Seoul overnight, marking the highest snowfall since 1907 when weather observations began.
This is about 4cm more than 12.4cm in 1972, which was the number one in history.
Following heavy snow, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted an additional snow of up to 20cm by tomorrow, saying strong snow is expected overnight.
