The heavy snow in the central part of the country overnight is causing congestion everywhere during rush hour today.
Snow removal is ongoing, but the road conditions are still bad as snow continues to fall.
There is a YTN reporter in Yeouido, Seoul. Reporter Shin Gwihye!

Is it still snowing a lot?
[Reporter]
Yes, now the snow has stopped completely and the sky has cleared up.
There are places where snow has melted quite a bit, but there are places with thin ice, and it is tangled with fallen leaves, so it is easy to fall.
Citizens said they couldn't avoid congestion on their way to work due to the snow that fell overnight.
I'll listen to it myself.
[Lee Joo-yeon / Seoul Hoegi-dong: I took Line 1 from Dongdaemun-gu to Yeouido, but it snowed a lot, so I think there were more people. I think I cinched more than usual.]
Currently, major highways in Seoul have relatively good snow removal, but some sections are still congested.
It's not easy for the vehicle to speed up as it melts on the road, but the snow still remains.
Cars and buses passing near Yeouido Station here are also slowing down more than usual to prevent accidents.

How is the road in downtown Seoul?
[Reporter]
There were two-way controlled roads for snow removal overnight.
We've finished snow removal now, so traffic has resumed.
Snow removal work has been completed in all places with heavy slopes such as Bukaksan-ro, Inwangsan-ro, Samcheong-ro, and Heukseok-ro in Seoul, which were previously controlled.
However, major sections of downtown Seoul are experiencing similar congestion on their way to work as usual. Some sections where the accident occurred are under partial control, such as the collapse of a telephone pole in the aftermath of
snow.
Heavy snow warnings are still in place in the central region, including the metropolitan area.
As snow is likely to continue to fall, the road conditions are not expected to be good today.
So far, I'm YTN Shin Gwihye at Yeouido Station in Seoul.
