The Democratic Party of Korea released a related recording, saying that Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure in the alleged intervention of the nomination, was involved in the nomination of Cho Eun-hee, a member of the People's Power, in the 2022 Seocho Gap by-election in Seoul.
According to the recording released by the Democratic Party of Korea, Myung told his acquaintance just before the by-election, "I did all the work for Cho Eun-hee," and said lawmaker Cho received only 5% of penalties for ineligible reasons, not 20%.
He then claimed that after Representative Cho was elected, he cried and called and said, "There are two city council nominations in Seocho-gap, and one will be given to you."
In response, Representative Cho refuted on his SNS, saying that he was not eligible for any reason at the time, and that Myung's words that he helped and became a candidate for the primary were a lie of self-exhibition.
At the same time, he wrote that he asked and warned the Democratic Party to stop spreading fake news for political disputes immediately without confirming the facts.
