Large Russian airstrikes targeting major energy infrastructure in Ukraine have cut power to at least 1 million homes in the country.

Ukrainian authorities and the largest power company DTEK said energy facilities in the western region, including Levyu, Bolin and Livne, were attacked on a large scale overnight.

Ukraine's air force said today (28th) that it has shot down 79 of 91 missiles and 35 of 97 drones launched by Russia.

Zelensky said on Telegram that attacks using cluster munitions had been identified in several regions, criticizing Russia as a terrorist tactic targeting civilian infrastructure and a very mean act of escalating tensions.

A cluster bomb is a form of extensive and indiscriminate airstrikes that are carried out by dispersing several small bombs in a single bomb on the ground.

Russia has recently stepped up its offensive with attacks targeting critical infrastructure in western Ukraine.
