U.S. President Joe Biden, who is about to leave office, and President-elect Donald Trump, who will take office in January next year, have issued a message to prepare for Thanksgiving, the biggest holiday in the U.S.

"Let's all celebrate the many blessings our great country enjoys this Thanksgiving with family, friends and loved ones," said President Biden, who celebrated his last Thanksgiving during his term.

"America is the greatest country on Earth and there is so much to be thankful for," President Biden said, "and I hope it celebrates everything that unites us. It's because if we're together, there's nothing beyond our capabilities," he said.

On the other hand, Trump wrote on social media, "Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, including the far-left lunatics who have tried so hard to destroy our country and have failed disastrously, and who will always fail."

"The great people of our country have just given a landslide victory to those who want to make America great again because their ideas and policies have been so horribly bad," Trump claimed.
