A man in his 20s who ran away after an accident after being chased by the police while driving under the influence of alcohol without a license was sentenced to prison.

The Incheon District Court sentenced 23-year-old A, who was handed over to trial on charges of drinking under the Road Traffic Act, driving without a license, and running away under the Specific Crime Aggravated Punishment Act, to one year and two months in prison and two years of probation.

The court said that A's crime was not good, but that the victim was not seriously injured and considered the agreement.

A is suspected of driving a car without a license while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.181% on the road in Namdong-gu, Incheon, at around 11:50 p.m. last June.

Mr. A ran away after hitting a taxi when the police, who were dispatched after receiving a report while driving a vehicle for about 2 kilometers, chased him.
