When driving a car, the area where you can check 'road thin ice' information through navigation will be expanded.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said it will provide road danger weather information, such as "road thin ice" that causes large accidents in winter, to seven routes by adding five routes, following the existing central inland and west coast lines.

The expanded routes are the Gyeongbu and Jungang lines, Honam lines, Yeongdong lines, and Tongyeong Daejeon and Jungbu lines, and the Korea Meteorological Administration added that these routes were selected in consideration of the high traffic volume and long length.

Road risk weather information is provided to drivers in real-time through navigation such as T-map and Kakao Navigation and road electronic boards, including the possibility of "road thin ice" and "road visibility risk information."

The Korea Meteorological Administration said it currently provides road risk weather information services on more than half of the 31 financial highways, and plans to expand the service in stages by establishing road weather observation networks on 31 major highways nationwide by next year.
