Participants of the rally are gathering one by one here in Geumnam-ro ahead of the vote on the president's impeachment.

More than 130 organizations and citizens will participate in the sixth Gwangju Citizens' Rally, which will be held from 3:30 p.m.

Organizers expect more than 10,000 people to gather.

As the number of participants in the rally increased after the emergency martial law incident, the venue of the rally was changed from 5.18 Democratic Square to Geumnam-ro.

Two-way traffic on 500m roads is restricted, and rallies are held.

Citizens gathered first at the rally are waiting for a vote on impeachment, shouting for the president to step down.

As a large crowd gathers, the police are also sending more than 200 people to focus on safety and traffic management.

After the recent presidential statement, citizens' voices calling for impeachment have grown louder.

Chonnam National University students plan to march from the school to the rally site, following in the footsteps of their seniors who led the May 18 pro-democracy movement.
