With the presidential impeachment becoming an acting president, Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok will hold a series of ministerial meetings in the financial and industrial sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister Choi plans to hold an emergency meeting of economy-related ministers and a meeting of foreign-related ministers at the Government Complex in Seoul today, and hold a meeting on macroeconomic and financial issues with Bank of Korea Governor Lee Chang-yong.
While some uncertainties have been removed by the impeachment motion, market instability remains, measures to minimize financial market volatility, each ministry to preserve external credibility, and countermeasures in the industrial sector will be discussed ahead of the Trump administration.
It is also expected to convey its commitment to the normal operation of the Korean economic system at home and abroad.
