Corruption Investigations Unit Requests No Disposal of 'Emergency Security Record'

The high-ranking government official's crime investigation office has asked the National Archives to ban the disposal of records related to the emergency martial law incident.

The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit said on the 10th that it has requested a ban on disposal, saying there is a need to preserve data held by the agencies subject to investigation in connection with the declaration of emergency martial law.

Under the Act on the Management of Public Records, the Director of the National Archives can decide to ban the disposal of records if there is a request for an investigative agency or investigative agency as a matter of national importance or if it is urgently needed to protect the rights and interests of the people.

Earlier on the 6th, the National Archives sent an official letter to the President's Office and the Ministry of National Defense to thoroughly manage records produced and registered before and after the emergency martial law incident, and if they are discarded in violation of this, they can be punished.
