The phone call between Acting President Han Deok-soo and U.S. President Biden lasted 16 minutes from around 7:15 a.m. this morning.
The Prime Minister's Office said discussions were held on our domestic situation, strengthening the Korea-U.S. alliance, and the North Korean nuclear issue.
Han explained that all future state affairs will be thoroughly carried out in accordance with the Constitution and laws and stressed that he will make efforts to ensure that the Korea-U.S. alliance develops without wavering.
He also said it is important to solidify the South Korea-U.S. joint defense posture at a time when North Korea's nuclear threats and cooperation between North Korea and Russia are intensifying.
President Biden also trusted South Korea's democracy and evaluated its resilience, responding that the ironclad Korea-U.S. alliance remains unchanged.
