The phone call between Acting President Han Duck-soo and U.S. President Biden lasted 16 minutes from 7:15 a.m.

The Korea-U.S. alliance, which has been raised by unexpected martial law, has become a major agenda item.

Acting President Han and President Biden agreed on the unwavering and ironclad maintenance and development of the Korea-U.S. alliance, the Prime Minister's Office said.

When the acting president also mentioned the domestic situation and explained that all state affairs will be strictly conducted in accordance with the Constitution and laws, President Biden responded by saying that he trusts South Korea's democracy and evaluates its resilience.

The Prime Minister's Office evaluated that it was a time to reaffirm the democracy of the Republic of Korea and the solid alliance between the U.S. and South Korea.

Acting President Han, who presided over the extraordinary State Council and the National Security Council the day before and took care of defense and security first, continued his tight schedule the next day.

I met with Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok and received reports on ways to assist the acting president in the presidential office.

[Han Deok-soo / Acting President: Every organization has turned into an organization that supports acting president. He reported to me what role the secretary's office was playing, and he came with the policy chief.]

{In the interview, however, there was no specific discussion on the independent counsel law for civil war and the independent counsel law for Kim Gun-hee, which drew attention to whether to exercise the right to veto.

Han also prevented National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik and discussed ways to normalize state affairs.

[Won-Sik Woo/Speaker of the National Assembly] It is of paramount importance to deal with the situation and stabilize the state affairs. The main principle of state administration is the people at the center of state administration.]

[Han Deok-soo / Acting President: Before the Speaker's visit, all the members of the State Council gathered to check the current situation. The government will do its best to overcome the crisis, looking only at the people.]

Han plans to continue the meeting of the State Council members and continue to take steps to resolve the confusion of state affairs early for the time being, including frequent reports of major public welfare issues.
