WSJ "Trump is determined to use tariffs even in corporate lobbying"
While Trump is lobbying behind the scenes to ease or change his plans to impose tariffs, Trump is adamant, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The Wall Street Journal said Trump's advisers tell consultants hired by companies that "there is not much room to intervene, so there is no other way to persuade them."

Trump also announced the tariff plan on social media, which he said tends not to inform even his closest aides in advance.

The Wall Street Journal expects some Republican politicians, including Senator Tom Cotton, Trump's ally, to use the tariffs only as a negotiating tactic and not actually impose high tariffs.

In the meantime, LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary introduced that companies are hiring lobbying companies to convey their positions to the U.S. Congress and Trump, such as signing contracts with the rental company Capital Council due to trade and supply chain issues.
