"The steering wheel is broken." Fishing boat drifting...rescue of all seven crew members

A 29-ton fishing boat that was drifting due to a malfunction of the steering wheel in the sea 72km northeast of Ulleungdo, Gyeongsangbuk-do, was safely rescued by a Coast Guard ship this morning, 18 hours later.

All seven crew members were confirmed to have no health problems.

The 3,000-ton Coast Guard ship, which was dispatched near Dokdo, arrived at the scene after breaking through waves five to six meters high overnight and is towing the ship in distress to safe waters.
