The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission said today (17th) that it has recommended the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and local governments to ease the period of restrictions on the transfer of private taxis.

Currently, private taxi transportation businesses are restricted from transferring for five years from the date they receive their license, making it difficult for drivers to transfer even if they have health problems or long-distance moving.

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission explained the reason for the recommendation, saying that this excessively violates rights, including freedom to choose a job.

At the same time, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission pointed out that local governments' demand for a local residential period of more than a year for private taxi transferees is also a barrier to entry.

In this regard, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission recommended that the regional requirement for the transferee stay be less than one year, and that each local government should change the standard to consider that the requirements were met if they had lived for a certain period of time even in the past.
