The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced a list of 468 workplaces that violated their obligations to prevent industrial accidents, including Samsung Electronics' Gwangju plant.

Businesses with more than two deaths or higher death rates (over-the-counter) than average in the same industry, and businesses with serious industrial accidents due to leakage or explosions of dangerous substances were listed.

Samsung Electronics' Gwangju plant was included in the list after concealing industrial accidents three times, and LG Display was listed as disgraced due to the high proportion of subcontracted accidents and deaths.

In addition, GS Caltex's Yeosu plant, where two people were injured in a leak accident, and LG Chem's Yeosu plant, where one person was injured in a fire, were publicly announced for violating the obligation to prevent industrial accidents.

The Arisel plant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, where 23 people were killed in an explosion in June, was not included on this year's list because the sentence was not confirmed.

Businesses and executives subject to publication will be restricted from various government awards for the next three years, and the competent local employment and labor office will conduct training to raise the safety awareness of the CEO.
