Professor Seo Kyung-duk has made a request for correction over Netflix's incorrect translation of Japan's "Karate" into "Taekwon."

Seo Kyung-duk, a professor at Sungshin Women's University, said on his SNS on the 19th, "Karate has been translated into Taekwondo in the animation 'Little Angel' provided on Netflix," and pointed out that he was introducing karate as Taekwondo in Korean dubbing in the fourth part of 'Little Angel'.Professor

Seo said, "It's an animation that children watch a lot. "You can misunderstand karate as taekwondo," he said. "Netflix will have to do the right thing."

Seo said, "In June, Netflix's 'The Eight Show' translated 'East Sea' into 'Sea of Japan' in the subtitles of 'Spanish (Latin America)' and so far, Netflix has made many Internet users angry by labeling 'Kimchi' as 'Pao Chai' (泡菜) in many Chinese subtitle services," adding, "It is appreciated that Netflix invests a lot in the production of Korean content, but it should be handled more carefully in interpreting and translating sensitive issues in a country."
