European club champion Real Madrid beat Pachuca of Mexico, the winner of the North and Central American club, to win the International Football Confederation Intercontinental Cup.

Real Madrid beat Pachuca 3-0 in Qatar in the final of the tournament.

The Intercontinental Cup was held for the first time as a "club champion" competition on six continents.

Vinicius, who was named the 2024 FIFA Men's Player of the Year the day before, scored one goal and one assist to win the Golden Ball, which is given to the tournament's most valuable player.

Ancelotti took the helm of Real Madrid and won his 15th trophy, beating Munoz to become the most winning head coach in Real Madrid history.
