A medical student identified only by his surname Choi, who is suspected of killing his girlfriend on the roof of a building near Gangnam Station in Seoul, was sentenced to 26 years in prison in the first trial.
The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Choi, a man in his 20s, to 26 years in prison today (20th).
The court judged that Choi not only prepared the crime in advance, but also judged that there is a high possibility of criticism, saying that the method was brutal.
He explained that the victim's family and acquaintances could no longer see the victim by brutally killing the defenseless victim, and that the mental suffering they would suffer was uncountable.
Choi is accused of stabbing his girlfriend several times to death on the roof of a building near Gangnam Station in Seoul in May.
Choi reported his marriage to the victim in April, and it was investigated that he committed the crime out of spite when the victim's parents demanded that they break up after learning about it.
Earlier, the prosecution demanded the death penalty for Choi at a final hearing last month.
