The Ministry of Public Administration and Security announced that it will operate a special countermeasure period for crowd management until January 1 next year for the year-end and New Year holidays.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety decided to send a field situation manager to crowded areas, saying that about 4.3 million people are expected to flock to major downtown areas and attractions across the country during Christmas, sunset, and sunrise this year.
In addition, the local government plans to establish a safety management plan from the preparation stage of the event, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, police, fire fighting, and private experts will check the safety management situation of the event to remove and supplement risk factors in advance.
It also announced that it will use a crowd management support system, real-time urban data, and a people counting system using CCTV as an auxiliary means to monitor signs of crowding.
