Trump names Burch as Catholic Voter Group leader to Vatican ambassador

U.S. President-elect Trump has nominated Brian Birch, head of a Catholic voter group, as his candidate for ambassador to the Vatican.

On his social media account Truth Social on Tuesday local time, Trump said he was happy to nominate Brian Birch, a devout Catholic and the father of nine children and the president of the "Catholic Boat," as the Vatican's ambassador.

He also said he helped Burch win many votes from Catholics in this presidential election, adding that it would make us feel proud.
