Farmers who came to Seoul with tractors to urge the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol were blocked by police and stopped at Namtaeryeong Pass in Seoul from yesterday afternoon.

The rally continued today, holding an overnight confrontation with the police, and it was confirmed that some marches were allowed.

I'll connect you to the on-site reporter.

Reporter Jung Hyun-woo, are the rallies going on in the field?

Yes,

'Tractor Shanghai Protest' is at the front of the parade.

Tractors with banners criticizing President Yoon Suk Yeol are blocked by police buses as you can see.

However, some tractors are starting, saying that the union has agreed with the police.

Only some tractors at the site were allowed to march to Gwanghwamun, and the rally personnel were allowed to march to the shrine.

It was around noon yesterday when a farmer from the National Farmers' Association arrived at Namtae-ryeong Pass, the first entrance to Seoul, with about 30 tractors and 50 trucks.

Originally, he planned to participate in a pro-impeachment rally in Gwanghwamun yesterday to denounce the emergency martial law and the government's exercise of the right to demand reconsideration of the grain management law.

However, farmers stopped in the roadway and held an overnight protest for two days as police notified them of restrictions and prevented them from entering Seoul due to inconvenience in downtown traffic.

The number of people at the rally continued to increase as citizens joined through nearby Namtaeryeong Station on the news that the confrontation was continuing for two days until today.

The eight-lane road of Namtae-ryeong Pass is closed to both directions, and the police took a detour of the vehicle to a nearby road.

The organizers plan to continue the rally by taking public transportation from nearby Sadang Station to President Yoon's residence.
