Panama became a diplomatic issue when Trump mentioned returning the Panama Canal, citing excessive canal tolls.

In the 1890s, the United States made it clear that it was willing to implement a strong tariff policy despite concerns about price increases, saying that tariffs alone were abundant without income tax.

President-elect Trump transferred ownership to Panama by building an 82-kilometer-long Panama Canal linking the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, but

Panama is affected by China in canal management and is receiving excessive canal tolls on U.S. ships, it said, referring to the return of Panama Canal.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President-elect: If Panama does not abide by moral and legal principles, it will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to the United States.]

From President Jose Raul Mulino to the opposition party, Panama has created a strong backlash and has become a diplomatic issue between the two countries.

[President Jose Raul Moulino / Panama: I want to make it clear that not a single land adjacent to the Panama Canal belongs to Panama and this will remain the same.]

Trump said in the 1890s that the U.S. was rich in tariffs alone without income taxes, suggesting a strong implementation of tariff policies despite concerns about price increases.

He then announced that he would abolish the Biden administration's energy production restrictions and mandatory electric vehicles from his first day in office.

Specifically, he reiterated that he would lower energy prices through oil and gas drilling, saying he liked the days when gasoline was $0.49 per liter.
