Thirty-two local governments across the country, including Jongno-gu, Seoul, have been selected as the target of the so-called "New Village Leading Project" where the government supports the installation of convenience facilities when private businesses repair old detached houses or villas.

In this regard, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport unveiled 32 new village leading project areas selected after deliberation by the Special Committee on Urban Regeneration under the Prime Minister.

A total of 32 places were selected this time, including four each in Seoul, South Jeolla Province, and North Gyeongsang Province, and three each in Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang Province, and Gyeonggi Province.

The government will invest 1.2 trillion won in these areas, including 413.2 billion won in state funds, for up to five years.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to supply apartment-level infrastructure and convenience facilities, including 237 complex amenities such as parking lots, parks, and care within a five-minute walk from the business site.

3,000 villas and townhouses will be supplied to places selected as business sites, and about 570 of them will begin their business in earnest soon after completing the business reporting and approval process through local governments.
