When you think of Ulsan, it's easy to think of 'industrial cities' or 'whales', but relatively little is known about food.

An exhibition of pictures of Ulsan's food from the perspective of students at a specialized high school is drawing attention.

I'm reporter Park Young-hoon of JCN Ulsan Central Broadcasting.

Colorful paintings embroider the gallery.

The theme of the paintings is Ulsan's food.

Whale bread and whale cone ice cream sold in Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village, and various foods, from Dandimanju to Mulhoe and Ulsan Zondeulgi on the Ulsan beach, were captured in various creative forms.

The paintings displayed in the gallery are works that capture the impressions that Ulsan Aniwon High School students felt while looking at Ulsan's food.

[Lee Joo-yeon / Ulsan Aniwon High School 3rd grader: I was looking for food in Ulsan and found a food called whale bread. I drew this work with the hope that foreigners would come to Ulsan to see it and eat whale bread as they came to see it on social media while eating whale bread.

Compared to Ulsan's industries, tourist destinations, and festivals, Ulsan's foods have not yet been widely known in other regions.

As students prepare for this exhibition, they also get to know Ulsan's foods that they didn't know until now while living in Ulsan.

[Jung Taehee / Ulsan Aniwon High School Senior : I've been in Ulsan for about 3 years since I was in high school. I think the chewy texture was very interesting. It's a food that I've never heard of anywhere else.. Even before graduation, I was able to get to know more about Ulsan and I was very proud to be able to display it with my paintings at the end.

Since 2022, Ulsan Animation Plaintiff has been exhibiting student works on topics related to Ulsan every year at the end of the year.

The exhibition, which has been held since the 9th, will be held at Kwakam Art Cafe Gallery in Buk-gu, Ulsan for a month in December until the 31st.

Ulsan Animation Plaintiff plans to continue exhibiting Ulsan-themed student works at the end of every year with the intention of promoting various aspects of Ulsan in the future.
