Christmas tree arson incidents took place ahead of Christmas, and large and small incidents and accidents took place around the world, including explosions at military factories, sinking cargo ships, and collapse of bridges.

At the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, a fire alarm went off when an electric short circuit occurred in the elevator going to and from the top.

The tourists were evacuated because of this, and the Eiffel Tower was closed for a while.

In the northeastern Brazilian state of Mar-a-Nyang, 10 cars fell into a 50-meter-deep river when the central part of the 530-meter-long bridge collapsed.

The rescue operation was not carried out quickly for fear that harmful chemicals carried in the crash truck might have been spread to the river.

Four people are dead and 14 are missing.

A Russian cargo ship sank in the Mediterranean Sea near Spain.

There was an explosion in the engine room.

Two of the 16 people on board are missing, and 14 rescued have been taken to Spain.The ship in the

accident was on its way to Vladivostok, leaving the Russian port of St Petersburg with a crane and an icebreaker.
