Cold wave warnings have been issued in Gangwon-do, northeastern Gyeonggi-do, Jecheon, North Chungcheong-do, and the mountains in northeastern Gyeonggi-do, and sub-zero cold is expected to appear across the country tomorrow morning.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said cold air below minus 30 degrees Celsius will come down from the northern sky of Korea, and temperatures will drop by 5 to 10 degrees tomorrow morning.
In particular, in areas where a cold wave warning has been issued, temperatures will fall below -12 degrees Celsius tomorrow morning, and Seoul, where no special warning has been issued, is expected to fall to -7 degrees Celsius and -11 degrees Celsius.
Along with the cold, heavy snow is expected on the west coast, Chungnam, Honam, and Jeju Island.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) urged thorough preparations, saying that heavy and humid snow of up to 20cm or more will fall in the Jeonbuk region and up to 10cm or more in the mountains of Chungnam, Jeonnam, and Jeju Island from early tomorrow to the day after tomorrow, and heavy and humid snow of 1 to 3cm per hour will be concentrated depending on the location.
