This year marks the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in Germany.
The story of Germany, which achieved dramatic unification, has no choice but to come to us in a unique way as the only divided nation.
A meaningful concert was held in Leipzig, Germany to pray for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Reporter Kim Woon-kyung went to the concert site.

The audience responds with applause as beautiful music spreads through the chapel.
This is the site of a concert to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
It is a meaningful concert organized by musicians from both Korea and Germany in hopes of peaceful reunification on the Korean Peninsula.
[Pastor Bernhard Steff / Opening Speech: We are glad that you are here to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall]
Regardless of nationality, musicians play with all their might, hoping for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Korean traditional music and Western classical music are in beautiful harmony.
It seems that the sincerity conveyed through music has been reached to the German audience who share similar experiences.
[Frank Tillman / German Audience: I believe that unification is very important not only in Germany but also in Korea. I desperately hope that both South and North Korea will unite and South Korea will become a unified country again.]
There is another reason why this concert is special.
This is the power given by the place called "Nicholai Church," where the concert was held.
In fact, this is a meaningful place where large-scale Monday prayers and candlelight vigils that toppled the Berlin Wall were held in 1989.
As it has an important symbolism in the process of German unification, it also resonates greatly with Koreans who want peaceful unification.
[Clin Sang-beom / Korean Ambassador to Germany: I think it's very meaningful that this unification concert will be held at the church in Leipzig, Nicola, which started in East Germany of the unification movement. I think it will contribute a lot to raising awareness of unification.
The reporter, who recorded the protest at the time, remembered the memories of that day and delivered a message to Koreans.
[Zigbert Scheffke / 1989 Photographer of the Protests] I really hope that this miracle of peace and unification that we experienced 35 years ago will happen to you (the Korean people).]
[Choi Kyung-ha / Chairman of the Leipzig Korean Association: This concert is a precious concert that contains our hope, peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula.]
People in Korea and Germany share similar pain and aspirations and share deeper friendship,
Both
performers and audiences hope that this concert will be a spark of hope for peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula.
