Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who donated a large sum to Vice President Kamala Harris in the U.S. presidential election, asked President-elect Donald Trump to meet.
President-elect Trump made this public in a post on Truth Social, a social media he created.
CNN said Gates had contacted the transition team for a meeting with Trump, but it was unclear at this point whether the two would meet.
Gates' request for a Trump meeting follows a recent series of visits to Mar-a-Lago by U.S. big tech companies, with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Tim Cook meeting Trump one after another recently.
In a related development, Trump said everyone fought him in the first term, but this time everyone wants to be friends.
In addition, mentioning Gates' request for an interview, he wrote that when he will come to Mar-a-Lago, the center of the universe, we miss you and that New Year's Eve will be great.
