In the wake of the Jeju Air plane disaster, politicians are also refraining from political strife and focusing their efforts on resolving the accident.
The leaders of the ruling and opposition parties visited the scene of the disaster and comforted the bereaved families, and most parliamentary schedules, including standing committees, were pushed back.

Kwon Sung-dong, the floor leader of the People's Power Party, bowed to the bereaved family at the scene of the accident at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do.
He stressed that he would make every effort to settle the situation and find out the truth, saying that a tragic accident that should not have happened.

Kwon Young-se, chairman of the emergency committee who began his official term, also skipped the inauguration ceremony and met with the bereaved families of the disaster to console them.

The Democratic Party leadership, who visited the site from the day of the accident, also visited the joint memorial altar and prayed for the victims' rest.
Chairman Lee Jae-myung promised the party's full support at the Jeollanam-do Provincial Supreme Council earlier, saying that dealing with the accident is the top priority.

The Democratic Party also said it will go through a fact-finding process centered on the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, the standing committee in charge, and take all measures to punish those responsible.
