National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik filed a dispute trial with the Constitutional Court, saying that acting President Choi Sang-mok's arbitrary suspension of the appointment of Ma Eun-hyuk among the three constitutional judges elected by the National Assembly violates the National Assembly's authority.
The chairman's office said that the suspension of Choi's appointment violated the National Assembly's authority to select constitutional judges, to form a constitutional court, and to be judged fairly in the impeachment trial requested by the National Assembly.
He also explained that he also filed an injunction with the Constitutional Court confirming that Ma is already in the position of a constitutional judge for the early restoration of the infringed authority.
